Yuki 05:18

Engrams refers to the hypothetical, physical interpretation of memories and all that leads up to them. The original tracks “Yuki” and “How Do I Miss You If You Never Go Away” were started in 2005 and 2009, respectively. During a late night listening session, Byallo and Scott rediscovered these cuts and decided it ‘s time to polish things up and unleash them. All of the tracks here are like slivers of memories, times and places past, reinterpreted and reworked through a filter, as it were, since Kenneth’s move to Berlin last year. Allowing the new influences of the city to permeate and push forward, Scott revives these memories and turns to making new ones.

Tom Ellis is a long-time favorite of ours, and his treatment of “I Didn’t Mean To” is the perfect example of why. Ellis takes the pitched, trippy vocals of our dear friend Linda Line and the basic melody, and adds a distinct, mature and beautifully jazzy backbone to the cut. Nothing short of brilliant.
